Meant Dance Project wants to invite your team to join us this winter at the 45th annual Miss Kansas Dance Festival. This time honored event celebrates area dance teams + studios and their hard work by providing a performance opportunity, giving meaningful feedback and awarding teams for their success.

NEW this SEASON
A NEW WEEKEND FORMAT
Miss Kansas Dance Festival is moving to a Saturday + Sunday this year! Dance team routines, officers, all studio performances, Showcase, and team awards will take place on Saturday, while dance team solos and duets will take place on Sunday with a separate awards ceremony.

EXHIBITION- ONLY ENTRIES
Looking for performance experience and professional feedback without the pressure of competition? Dance teams can now choose an Exhibition-Only Entry for any routine. Exhibition entries receive professional judging and feedback but are not eligible for placement or awards and are offered at a reduced entry fee.
DANCECOMP GENIE
We're excited to introduce DanceComp Genie for the 2027 season! Registration, scheduling, judging, scoring, and more will all be managed through DanceComp Genie, creating a streamlined experience for directors, judges, and dancers.
COLLEGE dance
PANEL/ Q + A
Each year, Miss Kansas Dance Festival hosts a College Dance Panel and Q+A on Friday evening, connecting high school dancers with current college dance team members.
This interactive session gives dancers an inside look at life on a college dance team — from auditioning and training to balancing academics and athletics. Our panelists share their personal journeys, advice, and insight into what it takes to succeed at the collegiate level.
Dancers will walk away with:

Real-world perspective on the college dance experience

Motivation and mentorship from current college athletes

Practical guidance on preparing for auditions and managing college life
This session is open to all high school dancers attending Miss Kansas and has quickly become one of the most inspiring parts of the weekend.
